Maternity Shoot by Still Life Studios

I am seriously amazed at the raw talent that the photographers at Still Life Studios have. Dani did an absolutely amazing job on my maternity shoot. I always think yeah I'm definitely NOT a photogenic person, but by some miracle (or just a lot of talent) Still Life always makes me feel good about myself. I look at the pictures that they take and I think hmmmm I actually look pretty dang good, why can't every picture I take look like Still Life took them of me? I'm so so so grateful that I have phenomenal photographers to capture these precious moments in my life.  We are expecting our little bundle of joy the 27th of June, and we are planning on naming him Calvin Henry Pettit. He's already a VERY active little boy....seriously this kid never sleeps, so we are excited to have our hands full when he comes.  Here are just a few. . . (I could not narrow it down more than this) of my favorites.

lil' cottage in Young

Oh my goodness, I absolutely LOVED this weekend! We just relaxed, nothing planned, nowhere to be, nothing pressing on my mind of "things to do before the baby comes" ..pretty much my only worry on this trip was . . . .will the baby come while I'm here? Luckily he didn't :)  We spent Memorial Day weekend with Randy & Michelle Foster up in Young at their adorable little cottage (I'm sad I didn't grab any pictures of the house).  It was a much needed get away, we just hung out, the boys went on quads as we went in the truck down to a little creek, the water was freezing which was perfect for my swollen feet.  We played games, went to a fun little ward they have up there, and the boys played a few fun games of horse shoes. Randy, being awesome totally schooled Jesse even though he'd never played before. .. beginners luck?? Jesse likes to think so :) It was so much fun, I'm so happy we have such good friends that make life amazing.

Jesse's favorite game was to throw rocks over the edge

I am 36 weeks along and Michelle is 29 weeks

Diamondbacks game

One of our besties John & Chantel invited us to a Diamondbacks game against the Minnesota Twins, it started off a little slow but got way more intense as the game went on. It was an amazing game! We ended up winning and had a blast, I even brought a throw pillow so my bum didn't get too tired from sitting :) I showed the world how lady like I am.... so I have noticed that being pregnant it is more and more difficult to cross my legs or keep my knees together - it's just not comfortable. Soo the people that were sitting in front of us had a huge Diamondbacks flag that they were waving around and I look up to see them on the jumbo tron, and what do you know there is me in the background with my wide open legs - so attractive I'm sure. I'm just glad I wasn't wearing a skirt that day.

Special Olympics

Last Saturday Jesse and I had the opportunity to volunteer at the Special Olympics for floor hockey.  Let me start from the beginning of the day. At about 5am I was wide awake so I got up and got a drink and realized that the baby was flipping like crazy around in my tummy. I sat there for a bit and it was just ridiculously strong so I felt my tummy with my hand and realized that I could feel it from the outside, which means that Jesse could feel the baby too! I grabbed Jesses hand and I woke him up and said- you've gotta feel this!  He woke up for a few minutes and he got really excited because he felt the baby kick a couple of times, then he promptly fell back asleep :) So I got up and made breakfast and woke Jesse up about an hour later to get up so we could go to floor hockey. We thought it would have taken a lot longer to get over to Avondale and it really only took about 30 minutes and we got there pretty much before all the the volunteers so we got to help out a lot and so we got the good jobs, we got to hand out the lunches for the athletes. We got to watch a couple of games and we made some cute friends.

Here is our friend Boyd - he helped us set up a lot of the tables

We got to sit and watch a few games

This is Deb, she was one of the volunteer coordinators
I even got to have my face painted- glitter everywhere!
Jesse was sad that he didn't get a metal :)
But happy that he could be there
We all had fun dancing, I got worn out pretty fast.
Thanks so much to Katie Hawkes, she let's us in on a ton of opportunities for service in the valley with Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics, and Feed my Starving Children.  Check out her service team facebook page HERE .

21 Weeks

Hi all!

I just thought I would post a picture or two of me at 21 weeks pregers. I'm finally at that point in my pregnancy where I feel great! I love being pregnant right now because I'm far enough along that I actually look pregnant and I don't feel super sick all the time.
Love it! Also Jesse was able to feel the baby kick yesterday morning- so much fun!
