Calvin 11 months

What? Almost a year?!? When did my little sweet baby teeny tiny turn into an almost one year old?!  He has been pretty cranky this month with sicknesses going around, teething a lot, and adjusting sleeping schedules. He is now sleeping through the night without even waking up once! We are putting him on whole milk a little earlier than a year because he has started using his teeth for more than just eating crackers.
He LOVES bath time!  He breaths in water several times every time he takes a bath, but I'm sure he will figure it out sooner or later.
He crawls up the stairs all by himself. He has seven teeth now four on top and three on bottom.
When he gets excited he will say "gob".  Every step he climbs up "gob, gob, gob" turns on a light switch, "gob, gob" looks at his game on my ipad "gob, gob" I say good job to him a lot, maybe he is trying to say that. He is also clapping his hands and gives high fives.
He is pulling himself up on everything, which means that he pretty much has a perpetual bonk on his head/face.  Even when he gets a pretty big bonk he is so easy to calm down. Most of the time he doesn't even cry.
This kid has monkey toes! We'll be watching him in his crib on the video monitor and we'll see him grab his blanket with his little toes and then bring it up to his face before he grabs it with his hands.

We went up to Utah for our newest nephews baby blessing, it was so much fun to see the family and play with the cousins

Calvin 10 months

What? you want to see what we have been up to for the last 5 months? I really have no excuse for not blogging, I wrote the updates but never posted. So here is to me catching up! Yay!!

I have LOVED seeing the little facets of Calvins personality shine through this month.  He is such an inquisitive and smart boy! He has started saying his first words. I think his first real word that he connected with an object was uhnana (banana). He also says mmmmmm for more, and he most often says ditty dat (kitty cat). He loves switching on and off the light. It's so much fun to see him switch the light on and whip his head around to see the effect of his action.  He loves playing with the humidifier, it's become part of our night time routine.  He doesn't really care too much about walking yet. He is pulling himself up and stands while holding onto something. The hard part is that he often stands up in his crib while he is supposed to be napping.
He is so curious and he gets into everything he shouldn't. When he get's into something like the computer or the tree I'll say to him, Calvin no no. He will look around and smile at me and then go even faster and his little fingers get going even more into what he's not supposed to. He is the most persistent kid. When he sees something he wants he will do anything to get it.  He loves playing in the water, he is learning that he can't breath underwater :)

9 months!

On the 16th Calvin turned 9 months old! He is a little string bean. He is only 17 lbs but he is really long for his age. He is so much fun, I love being his mom! This month he has really started crawling. He does this army crawl and he is very determined to get into whatever he wants. His favorite thing to get into is the xbox and modem.  Whenever we catch him and we start walking towards him he gets even more into the cabinet and tries to chew on whatever he can before we get to him.

The other day we were in the car listening to music and he starts singing along! We weren't sure if he was complaining about something or what so we turned off the music and he stops.  When we start the music back up he starts singing again. We have noticed that he does this with night time songs and anytime he hears music. I absolutely love it! I hope he is musical like his dad.

He has started getting  a little pickier with his food, but as long as we are all eating at the table at the same time he'll eat pretty good. If we are eating and he is not, wow buddy he gets mad! He wants whatever we are eating so when we are all eating together we can trick him into thinking he's eating what we are.
He has started being very selective with his toys. We will put the bucket of toys on the ground and he will take them out one by one and look at it and either throw it or play with it.  After there are no more toys in the bucket he will generally flip it over and knock himself in the face with it. He will brace himself for the bonk as he flips it up.
Calvin LOVES being outside! Since the weather has been so nice we go to the park for picnics often. He loves watching the trees and the birds. His favorite is watching the big trucks going by.

I love him and his little expressive face, here are a few shots from his monthly photo shoot:

BANANAS

We tried bananas again (the first time he wasn't the biggest fan) and this time he loved them! I got a few pictures of him and I had to share.

Gilbert Arizona Temple

Jesse had work off the day after Valentines day and we had big plans to go on a hike, have a picnic, and celebrate the day of love. Unfortunately Jesse hurt his foot the night before so any sort of foot-centric activities kind of went out the window. Instead, I made amazing strawberry filled crepes with vanilla ice cream for breakfast and later we went to visit the Gilbert Arizona Temple construction site. I am sooo excited for the temple to be completed! It is two miles away from our home.  I have been wanting to go and get pictures there with Calvin before it gets entirely built so I'm happy we had a bit of time to do that.  My idea of fun is going to Home Depot, getting supplies, and building something awesome.  I got an idea off Pinterest to make a fun shelf for Calvin's room. We worked on that project for a while and made a lot of progress but I'll post more on that later. Anyways, it was a lovely Valentines Day; I love my sweet Valentine boys. I am one lucky girl! Here are a few pictures from the new temple site:

8 months

Calvin's two bottom teeth are starting to break through!  He cries out every now and then, but that's all! He is teething like a champ.

He also took his first crawl this month, so I expect within the next couple weeks he should be crawling. He is also a getting good at sitting; I don't have to worry about him falling on his face too much. He has started saying "dada" although he's not really referring to Jesse. He says it mostly when he's happy so that's nice. Calvin is also starting to stick out his tongue and blow raspberries. He just babbles and sputters to himself all the time.  The other day we had him on the floor on his little play mat and he was looking up at himself in the mirror and laughing hysterically!  Whenever I pick him up he wraps his arms around my neck really tight, grabs two big hand fulls of hair, and holds on like a little monkey.
The new foods this month have been asparagus, pears, beans, rice, and chicken, all of which Calvin seemes to enjoy.
This little boy has the most expressive face. He makes me laugh so much because of all of his funny expressions.
Here is a video of him laughing at himself in the mirror:

I just love this little boy and his cute face.
