So we were on our way home one evening and our neighbors had a bunch of plants they were giving away for free in their front yard. I have never been much of a gardener but I jumped at the opportunity to try something new. We picked up some hot peppers, parsley, basil, tomatoes, and my favorite, rhubarb. The parsley and one of the peppers have died already but the rest are alive and doing well. It's a lot of fun and I'm super excited to get some fruit and herbs out of it!

I have found that peppers and herbs in general are hard for me to keep alive...at least the ONE growing season we've attempted a garden so far. I'm planning to try basil and cilantro again--hopefully we'll have better luck!
ReplyDeleteCool, Kendra! Gardening is way fun and way worth it. Our sunflowers and beans are just coming up, and I think I might have seen a corn just barely poking its head out of the ground. Lettuce is doing great, as are the tomatoes, and we're going to try to do better with our peppers this year. You might try partial sun with the peppers. They need heat but your sun there might be too much all day. It's kind of trial and error; we haven't mastered them yet.
